Cameron Saunders

He was ordained as a Deacon on October 18, 2021.

Cameron Saunders was born in Freeport, Grand Bahama, to Colin and Revon Saunders. His father’s impending ordination to Holy Orders significantly influenced his early life and faith journey. Deacon Saunders began his education at Victoria Public School in London, Ontario, and later continued his studies in The Bahamas at Governor’s Harbour All-Age School in Eleuthera and St. John’s College in Stapledon, New Providence, where he completed his primary and secondary education.

In 2011, Deacon Saunders earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the College of The Bahamas. He then pursued a Master’s in Divinity at Huron University College in London, Ontario, which he completed in 2021.

Before his ordination to Holy Orders, Deacon Saunders worked for seven years as a Deputy Park Warden for the Bahamas National Trust, stationed on New Providence. His ministry journey began at the Parish of St. Ambrose on New Providence, where he served as a layman. He was actively involved in the church as a member of the Guild of St. Ambrose, a Scout Leader, CYM Advisor, Sunday School Teacher, and Vestry member, all roles which allowed him to develop a deep commitment to his faith and community.

Deacon Saunders is married to Vashti Saunders (née Walker), and they have two children, Cameron II and newborn Brooklyn. In his personal time, Deacon Saunders enjoys gardening, cooking, grilling, playing soccer, and indulging in auto-mechanics.

As a Deacon, Cameron Saunders is committed to spreading the message of love, hope, and service. His compassionate and dedicated approach to ministry has earned him respect and admiration within the church community. Deacon Saunders continues to use his skills and knowledge to positively impact the lives of those around him, leaving a lasting impression as a leader of faith and service.
