The Reverend Angela Bosfield Palacious, M.A., M.Div., Th.M., born in Nassau, Bahamas, holds the historic distinction of being the first female Bahamian ordained as a deacon (1999) and subsequently as a priest (2000) in the Anglican Diocese of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands. Her theological and academic formation spans several countries, having studied in The Bahamas, Jamaica, England, Canada, and the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Durham University (England), a Master of Arts in English from Concordia University (Montreal), and graduate degrees in Divinity and Theology with a specialization in Pastoral Counselling from Princeton Theological Seminary. She also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Homerton College, Cambridge, and a Certificate in Anglican Studies from the General Theological Seminary in New York.

Currently, Rev. Palacious serves as the Anglican Hospital Chaplain and Associate Priest at Christ Church Cathedral, Nassau. Her ministry is multifaceted, including pastoral care, spiritual direction, counseling, and a robust communication ministry. She produces daily devotional videos, weekly podcasts, and contributes a weekly column in the Religion section of a local daily newspaper. She serves as Chairperson of several important committees, including the Diocesan Pastoral Care Committee, the Diocesan Family Violence Think Tank, the National Maritime Policy Implementation Committee, and the Teacher Morale Improvement Committee.

Before ordination, Rev. Palacious worked as a primary school teacher, a volunteer guidance counsellor, and a parish lay worker for over a decade. Since her ordination, she has served as Assistant Priest at St. Mary the Virgin and St. Margaret’s Churches, briefly as Priest-in-Charge at the Church of the Epiphany, and as Diocesan Ministry Coordinator for the “Diocese 2000 and Beyond” initiative for ten years.

Her public service has included roles such as Chaplain to the House of Assembly, membership on the College of The Bahamas Council, the Public Hospitals Authority Ethics Committee, the National Women’s Advisory Council, and the National Youth Council. She also served as Chairperson of the Residential Care Licensing Authority and was a Prayer Counsellor during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rev. Palacious is also a published author, with an extensive collection of Christian meditations and devotionals. Her works include Christian Conch Salad, Staying Attached to the Vine, Is Your Anchor Holding?, Praying for the Family, Sharing Our Stories of Encounters with God, A Question a Day (Parts One and Two), A Blessing a Day, Bitesize Blessings for Every Day, and her most recent publication, Reflections a Day from Genesis to Revelation. She continues to inspire through her writing, speaking, and compassionate ministry.
