The Reverend DeAngelo N. Bowe, B.A., Dip.P.S., is a devoted Anglican priest and church leader in the Diocese of The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands. Born on December 7, 1979, the feast day of St. Ambrose, to Eileen Cartwright (née Treco) and John Bowe, Fr. Bowe spent his formative years between Freeport and Long Island. His early Christian formation took root through Sunday School and altar service at Holy Cross in Hamiltons and St. Athanasius in Deadman’s Cay, where he would later be ordained deacon. His vocational journey was further nurtured under the guidance of his cousin and foster father, Archdeacon Keith N. Cartwright, at Christ the King, Freeport.

Fr. Bowe attended several schools during his early education, including The Scrub Hill All-Age School, Lower Deadman’s Cay Primary, and N.G.M. Major High School in Long Island, before completing high school at Freeport Anglican High School in 1997. Following a brief period of employment with Barclays Bank, he entered Codrington Theological Seminary and the University of the West Indies to pursue his calling. In 2002, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from the University of the West Indies and a Diploma in Pastoral Studies from Codrington Theological Seminary.

Before reaching canonical age for ordination, Fr. Bowe served as a teacher and ordinand at Freeport Anglican High School and as an assistant at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Pinders Point. He was later assigned to the Church of the Ascension, Lucaya, Grand Bahama, under Archdeacon Cornell J. Moss (deceased), who prepared him for ordination. Fr. Bowe was ordained to the diaconate on October 11, 2003, at St. Athanasius Church, Long Island, by the Most Rev. Drexel W. Gomez, and to the priesthood on November 1, 2004, at Christ Church Cathedral.

Fr. Bowe has faithfully served in various pastoral roles throughout the diocese, including:

  • Priest-in-charge, St. Michael and All Angels & St. Nicholas, Sweetings Cay and High Rock (2007–2011)

  • Rector, Sts. Peter and Anne Parish, North Abaco (2011–2018)

  • Rector, Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Chippingham, New Providence (2018–2021)

  • Rector, Parish Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Stapledon Gardens, New Providence (2021–present)

In addition to his parish responsibilities, Fr. Bowe plays a significant role in church leadership. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Codrington College, the Provincial Doctrinal Commission, and the Diocesan Council.

On April 2, 2005, Fr. Bowe married Tennessee Bowe (née Major). Together, they are the proud parents of two children: Kymani Keith and Alayna Mona-Lisa Adderley. Fr. Bowe’s ministry is marked by a deep commitment to pastoral care, theological education, and the spiritual growth of the Anglican community.
